Professor Adrian Long ( 1952-59 ) was awarded an OBE in New Year’s honours list for his services to Higher Education and to Engineering . A former Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Q.U.B. and a past president of the Institute of Civil Engineers . Presently a member of the Board of Governors of RSD . Ken Burnett retired after a successful career laying specialised airfield surfaces . He has worked in the Falkland islands , the Balkans and outer Mongolia and now lives in Newcastle , Co.Down David Wells (1951-59) retired as 1ST XV coach at Methodist college after 28 years of unparalleled success, he will continue to coach at a lower level** .

Dennis Johnston (1953-60) retired as principal of Lurgan College, Dennis was formerly a chemistry teacher in RSD and Head of Chemistry in Portadown College, before moving to Lurgan** Edmund Curran ( 1956-62) was awarded the OBE in the Queen’s Birthday honours list for his contribution to journalism . Edmund is editor–in -chief of News and Media ( NI). He is a former editor of the Belfast telegraph and Sunday Life . Dr Ivan Pollock ( 1959-66) retired as Headmaster of Campbell College after eighteen years in charge** Judith Eve (Steele) (DHS 1960-67) was awarded a CBE for her contribution to public service in Northern Ireland. She was employed by Queen’s University of the until 2002 as a legal academic and then international liaison officer. She was chairperson of the Civil Service Commissioners for Northern Ireland. Judith was Head Girl in DHS 1966-67** Raymond Armstrong (1961-1968) is a Senior Consultant in Rheumatology in Southampton General Hospital and has a family of six. Dr. Brian Dunn ( 1963-70) was chairman of the BMA’s G.P.’s. committee and is a G.P. in Larne. Rev. Norman Cardwell (1964-71) has been appointed to Thomas St Methodist church in Portadown. Alan Cromie ( 1968-71) has been working on a Foreign Office contract as an international police adviser in Southern Iraq . Eithne Wallis (Walsh) (DHS 1964-71) was made a CBE for outstanding service to the National Probation Service of England and Wales. Eithne was Head Girl of DHS in 1970-71 Garnett Mullen ( 1966 -73) is Headmaster of Newtonhamilton High School . Richard Ian Boston (1967-75) visited RSD with his daughter. A trained geologist who has worked throughout the world he has now settled in Texas with his wife Anne who works for American Airlines. He spoke of his brothers Alan and Michael (both former pupils of RSD). Michael is a zoologist who runs an Eco-tour business in Costa Rica** Aubrey Irwin (1967-75) is working with Tourism Ireland in Coleraine**   Stephen Hill (1969-76) is still teaching in Castlederg High School** Alistair McLean ( 1971-78) is the chief executive of the Greyhound Association . Dr Jennifer Paisley (DHS ) a partner in the Northland Surgery was the winner of the Royal College of General Practitioners (N.I. Council ) Patient Award for Quality Patient Care. Trevor Robinson (1973-80) succeeded Dennis Johnson as Headmaster of Lurgan College** Khalid Moursy in Poland for 6 years now and a Director of Studies and Teacher Trainer, at the moment working with children and Telematic Applications Supporting Cognition. Khalid is married to a Pole, enjoying life and keep in touch with some of the guys from school Sam Moursy works in Kinsale as a process Engineer. Sam and Khalid were boarders at RSD IN 1980's Andrew McNamee ( 1997-84) employed in risk management in NHS hospitals, has gone to work in Paris after several years in Glasgow** Patrick Marsh is employed as a researcher in the House of Commons at Westminster. Colin Crooks ( 1980-87) is first Secretary for Asian Affairs at the British Embassy in Washington** Michael McNamee (1980-87) is joint presenter of BBC Ulster’s ‘ The Summer Club‘ he received a Bronze Sony Award at the Sony Radio Academy Awards Ceremony in London . Michael shared the BBC 2 commentary box with Graham Gooch at the recent international cricket match between Ireland and England at Stormont Deborah Stevenson (DHS, RSD 1986 – 89) is teaching in Rockford Primary School, Southend . Ruth Maxwell (Brady) (DHS, RSD 1986 – 89) is teaching Economics and Mathematics in Portora Royal School Alastair Gillespie(1981-88) is a partner in Hill Dickinson and works in Liverpool Trevor Crooks (1982-89) is, at present, manager of the bank of Ireland in Luton.** Dale Hanna (1982-89) has been appointed Transport Manager of SELB

These films were developed under the auspices of Project Norma , a scheme which provides aspiring filmmakers with the opportunity to write, direct and produce a no budget ten minute short film . Jonny Edgar ( 1991-98) is spending a year teaching English in South Korea** Gemma Dalzell( 1991-98) is a dentist in Edinburgh and her sister Lucy ( 1992-1999) a doctor also in Edinburgh** Tanya Gates ( 1991-98) works in the same Dental Practice as Jill Black in Draperstown Lisa Hobson( 1991-98) is employed as a physiotherapist at the Royal Victoria Hospital . Daniel Henning(1993-98) is an orthopaedic surgeon with the Royal Navy in Portsmouth , and has seen duty in the Falkland Islands . Daniel has received the Oliver Sword for showing , within his first three years -leadership, determination, courage and compassion during training and early appointments . He provided medical support to HMS Argyll during deployment in the gulf . Jill Martin(1991-98) is a graphic designer with Charles Hurst Cars in Belfast Bryan Stinson(1991-98) is employed with Hamilton Shipping Company in Belfast Roy Peake ( 1991-98 ) completed a Ph.D. in biomedical sciences at QUB and is now training as a Clinical Scientist in Wishaw Hospital , near Glasgow Peter Birnie ( 1992-99) is teaching mathematics in Hull Kyle Black (1992-99) is working as a veterinary surgeon in Shropshire . Jonathan Dobson( 1992-1999) is teaching sciences in Enfield, North London Andrea Erskine ( 1992-99) is teaching in Dungannon Primary School** Alan Hall ( 1992-99) is a graphic designer with UTV** Lyndsay Patterson ( 1992-99) studying for a Ph.D. in Marine Biology at QUB has made several international appearances for the Northern Ireland Woman’s football squad with which she has been involved since its inauguration three years ago . Patrick Harkness (1992-99) has completed a Ph.D. at Cranfield University on ‘ orbiting space debris ‘ . He attended the International Symposium on Space Technology And Science in Japan , chaired one of the sessions and presented a report on his research .

Lawrence Ng a former boarder was married in Hong Kong in October 2005 . Lawrence has a 1st class honours degree in engineering from Salford university and is assistant manager for a large engineering firm in Hong Kong . Tanya Beattie ( 1993-2000) has taken up employment with Lawcomm Solicitors , Southampton** Garth Brown ( 1993-2000) is working with Baird’s Chemists** Philip Bloomer ( 1993-2000) is working for Edinburgh City Council as An Environmental Health Officer Kelly Colbert (1993-2000) has started her teaching career in Fairview Primary School, Ballyclare** Daryl Edwards ( 1993-2000) is working in the Pharmacy Department of the City Hospital, Belfast** Janice Gilkinson ( 1993-2000) is currently employed in Dungannon by Premier Properties Wendy Hewitt (1993-2000) is working with First Trust Bank in Belfast** Neil McIvor (1993-2000) is teaching in Aughnacloy College** Cherith Maxwell(1993-2000) has taken up employment with Armagh and Dungannon H & SS Trust** Elaine Martin ( 1993-2000) is working as a physiotherapist in Belfast City Hospital Catherine Simpson ( 1993-2000) has been working as a volunteer youth worker with Woodvale Presbyterian Church, Belfast** Keith Badger (1995 - ) has taken up a position with Alpine Stars engineering firm in Italy Nicola Carson (1995 - ) is working in the Ulster Bank, Dungannon Kate Henning ( 1994-2001) is studying for a M.Arch. at the University of Edinburgh Marc Lawson (1994-2001) won player of the year for rugby at Abertay University, Dundee** Lauren Patton ( 1994-2001) has obtained a teaching post in Newtonhamilton High School Catherine Stuart ( 1998-2003) is working in the Ulster Bank , Dungannon Ben Preston ( 1998 -2003) has been reelected president of Queens Student Union for a second year and is at present on all expenses paid trip to the United States to study the U.S. political system David Pollock ( 1998-2005) signed a two year contract with Ulster and was named Vodafone Ulster Young Player of the Year captained the Ireland U19 rugby team which competed in the World Cup tournament in Dubai . He was selected to captain the Ireland U21 team in the IRB U21 world championships . David has since given up his rugby career because of injury.
